One reason I started this blog was to share my journey trying to understand climate change and what we can do about it. My wish is that this blog serves as a resource to help others on a similar journey and sparks conversations on the matter.
Over the past year I’ve uncomfortably digested the fact that climate change is the greatest threat humanity has ever faced, and it’s much worse that I thought it was. I want to write about my journey seeking to understand climate change and what we can do about it.
I owe this climate revelation to my incredible wife, a brilliant professional who has recently founded her own company whose foundational idea is to “mainstream green.” To be an entrepreneur is a calling; to be an entrepreneur environmentalist is something more. Watching her on this journey is incredibly inspiring — for example, here’s a letter she wrote to her fellow graduates of her MBA class.
Seeing the effect her company has already had on other people has also been wonderful to see. Several months ago my brother texted me that he stopped buying plastic water bottles and explained that he felt compelled by seeing my wife’s work. I like to remind her of this when she’s in an entrepreneurial existential crisis. “Babe, even if the company fails, you’ve already made an impact for the better.”
In that same spirit (but with way less commitment than an entrepreneur!) I am starting this blog. I can spread helpful resources and information about climate change and what we can do to help fight the worst of it. I’ll also share about my attempts (and failures) at living sustainably.
I hope you enjoy! Let’s do this!
